Earth Baby Organics is a company that cares about your baby's health. They only use organic and all natural ingredients. And what's more, parts of its profits are donated to charities to help young orphans receive necessary medical operations and save the endangered Tarsier monkeys. Generous, eco-friendly, healthy and fashionable: what more can you ask?
"We live in an industrialized world which requires us to be increasingly aware of how our health is affected by air and water pollution, chemicals in the food supply, and the overall quality of the environment," said Didi Yeh, vice president of marketing for Earth Baby Organics. Earth Baby was founded by Florence Nacino, who has more than 30 years of experience creating body care products. According to the company, they wanted to create a line that focused on cleansing and nourishing skin.
"Young bodies are in an important development phase that will create the foundation for the rest of their lives," Yeh said. "When considering this fact, we feel the safest and best chance we can give our children is to use ingredients as close to their pure and natural state as possible." Because babies are so fragile, and their skin is super delicate, Earth Baby uses certified organic and natural ingredients, along with fruit and vegetable extracts in its products. Ingredients include safflower oils, strawberry, carrot, mango, pumpkin, and kiwi. |
|
Earth Baby not only uses the best of what nature offers, but utilizes the award-winning Oleosome technology. "Earth Baby applies advanced scientific technology to these natural ingredients and concentrates the benefits via fresh cell extracts. Then our proprietary OleoSpheres take these extracts and deliver them in a highly effective vehicle based on natural and organic oils. So we combine deep delivery and concentrated skin nutrients into our product line," said Yeh.
The product line features baby lotion, wipes, lotion, bath gel, detangler, sunscreen, shampoo and more. They are hypoallergenic and are not tested on animals, according to the company website, www.earthbaby-organics.com. Earth Baby has partnered with the Forest Steward Council and Rainforest Alliance to use a percentage of its packaging from FiberStone, a type of eco-friendly, tree-free, recyclable paper that doesn't use water as part of its process.
"Earth Baby has a profound commitment to the quality of life, not just for humans, but for animals and the planet as a whole," said Yeh.

Children are precious and innocent, and so is their skin. Be sure to keep your child's skin as smooth and healthy as possible by keeping it moisturized. Most of these products showcase organic or natural ingredients that cleanse skin and keep it looking as fresh and beautiful as they are. They also leave a smaller carbon footprint.
Earth Baby Organics
Earth Baby Organics is a line of organic and natural baby products that include baby wipes, lotion, bath gel, shampoo, sunscreen and more. Many of the products are hypoallergenic including the Bottoms Up Moisturizing Wipes and Cuddle Soft Lotion. They also are said to be pediatrician recommended, which adds a greater level of confidence for parents.

When Hair Needs Some TLC, Go Shopping

Creating the perfect hairstyle for your child begins with caring for their particular type of hair. Whether they have curly, dry, oily, lifeless, or damaged hair, these products are steps towards working on their hair issues and will help your child achieve beautifully-coiffed tresses. And as a parent, you may want to treat yourself, just to make sure they're fit for the next generation.
Dry, Damaged Hair:
For hair that is continually dry-looking and possibly damaged, try Frederic Fekkai's Technician Conditioner for Dry, Damaged, Color-Treated Hair. The conditioner boasts hydrolyzed silk, avocado and Pro Vitamin B5 and should impart shine and softness to your child's locks. And for extra shine, try adding a shine spray or gloss to lock in all of the moisture.
Oily Hair:
When your child's hair is oily, even after washing, it can look and feel less than fresh. Johnathan Product Redo Freshen-Up Mist for Hair & Skin may be able to dispel that notion. It uses extracts from white tea, aloe and pomegranate among others to keep hair conditioned, but also fights odors from the scalp and hair. Another plus is that the spray is completely vegan-friendly and free of alcohol and it can also be used on skin. |
|
Curly:
Curly hair can look extremely frizzy without some definition. Carol's Daughter Hair Milk is a moisturizer that can be used to make curls shinier and bouncier without weighing hair down. It includes lemongrass and almond oil as two of its ingredients and was named "Best Natural Wonder" in the 2008 Best of Sephora Awards.
Limp, Lifeless Hair:
Limp, lifeless hair may need an extra boost to up the volume. Kiehl's Stylist Series Super Thick Volumizer may be the product that works for your child. The volumizer is said to specifically target the hair roots to increase volume from the top down and includes oils to boost shine, which will improve the hair's vitality.
Straight Hair:
While straight hair may not seem like an issue to most, it can be if you or your child is looking for a change or need to add shine. Ojon Shine & Protect Glossing Mist is a natural product that can increase the shine of your child's hair and help protect against heat damage from hair dryers and straighteners. And as a spray, it is much easier than slathering product on with your hands. |

Mixed Girl Hair

As most “mixed race” girls will tell you, it’s not always easy having a mother that can’t really relate to your hair type. Countless hours stuck in hair salons that are not quite sure what to do with your hair can become a way of life. Although bi-racial hair can come in as many varieties as any other hair type, my mixed friends and I have all found one brand that seems to have something for all of us; Aveda.
Aveda has a wide variety of hair products that seem to work for most curly-hair and mixed-race children and adults. If you are a parent of a bi-racial child and are not sure exactly what to do with your child’s hair, these tips should get you started in the right direction.
1. When you wash your child’s hair, use a good quality shampoo and conditioner. Aveda has several good ones. I’ve also heard Aussie Moist has been known to work miracles on dry hair. Apply shampoo as usual, wash out and apply conditioner. Use a lot of conditioner!
2. While the conditioner is still in the hair, take a wide tooth comb and comb through your child’s hair. Believe me this is a secret that will work wonders! Start at the bottom and work your way up. Hold a group of hair at a time, so not to pull to hard at the roots with the comb.
|
|
3. Afterwards, while the hair is still wet apply a leave-in conditioner. Be generous. Aveda Sap Moss works well for me. One of my good friends swears by the Aveda Elixir. No need to comb the hair again now or after it dries. You’ll preserve the natural curl much better if you don’t.
4. From here you can either let the hair dry naturally or use a blow dryer with a diffuser at the end. Scoop up groups of hair with the diffuser and hold it there for a few seconds at a time, until the whole head is dry.
5. Keep in mind. Although many will tell you different, resist putting perms or other chemical treatments on your child’s hair. This will only damage it further. You’ll find if you continue to experiment and use good products, the natural beauty will shine through. |
